I was thinking a B4 mount with my current 2/3 lens world be a great start and add a few primes in there.

This makes sense. I'm sure there's a big magnification factor with a 2/3" lens - but the Cabrio is $38,000! I can live with a cropped image.

Any word on the specific price? I'm reading a $38k lens is twice the price of the camera. So, $19k ?

Great news, do they have a pre order anywhere?

I get the feeling this wont have the same color engine as the Alexa although it has the same sensor. I also wonder what ISO rating this is.

Time will tell.

I think it will be exactly Alexa's quality, well minus the 4k feature in which Alexa will be featuring soon.

Price revealed

Prores 422 1080 up to100fps €26000 (CVP) or $40000 in US
Prores 422HQ 1080 up to 200fps €29000 (CVP) or TBA
Prores 4444 2K up to 200fps. €33000 (CVP) or TBA
Since the US price is MSRP and the Eurpoean price is from a dealer, I suspect the actual US pricing scheme will be $35000, $39000, $44500.

I think they represent a good deal compared to Alexa, but not that enticing, compared to the competition. On the other hand, is a justified premium for the best sensor on the market and Arri's reliability and ergonomics.

Re: ARRI Amira revealed!

The Arri sensor and ergonomics (which means $thousands saved on shoulder rigs) are two of the three really big deals about this camera. The third is that it records to an edit-friendly codec on relatively inexpensive CF cards - so no transcoding and no expensive drives = more $thousands saved in post

Renting this camera for $2000 a week could be the best investment in reducing production and post-production costs that an indie can make.

Cheers,

Bill

She doesn't get CF BUT CFast 2.0 which are very fast but, at the moment more expensive than SSD. Amost $2K for 256GB
