Just looked at some more of the videos about the sharpness/detail issue with the Mavic - I actually think this is bigger than just a user error issue. Clearly (no pun intended) they couldn't see that their footage was out of focus while operating the drone. It's easy to say that if they'd just known they had to focus they wouldn't have had the issue - but it seems like you'll never know for sure if you actually got it properly focussed until you get back home to watch the footage on a monitor. Frankly that's not very confidence inspiring - especially when you're shooting moving shots where the focus might need to change. It seems like if it's so easy to mess up that these guys are doing it without realizing it then it's a design issue - there needs to be some way to confirm focus so you don't blow a critical shot.

I wonder why they did it like that, it's not like there is a large sensor inside with a fast lens that shoots at a longer focal length, those minicameras on a gimbal should always be in focus front to back like the gopro.
