New iPod product: look like Geordi LaForge
Has anyone tried this? This looks pretty nuts! I've love to try it out for fun.
I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I could return it if it sucked, does this company have any stores or sell their products to retailers?
I'd wait for the reviews to come out, like in MacWorld and Mac Addict.

I would bet real money that there will be an accident involving one of these within 6 wks of release because the driver was watching video. But, cool!
There was a company showing something similar to this (maybe the same) at the MacWorld Expo in SF, CA. The line to view them was so huge I didn't get a chance to check it out. The reactions from the attendance was good but then it could have been out of courtesy to the vendor standing right next to them. In any case, would be a cool toy.

i remember testing out sony's video headset (eyeset?) a few years back and it was pretty impressive. granted i didnt know what resolution was or how it worked, i was just in awe of an imaginary 7 foot screen floating in front of me.
Cool product. I wonder if this would be useful as a field monitor for a steadycam or boom operator...
If anyone knows my posts they know I am not terribly critical of much at all, but, there's a little too much of a nerd factor going on with this thing. I'd be a bit embarrased to wear it on the airplane while having to endure "Jordy" from Star Trek jokes. Aside from that, I like what it may have to offer. Anybody else feeling this or am I simply to self conscious...Arrgghh!
What about its audio capabilities? The chances are you'll end up wearing headphones, so you get to be Princess Leia and Geordie La Forge all at the same time! WOOPIE!
I couldn't find any reference to price....wonder if it would be less expensive to just buy a real 56" screen ('course it would be tough getting it through security at the airport)

I wear glasses.
does the eyewear device require that you take your glasses off to use it? If so does it allow your to adjust the diopter settings?
I think this will be the future of television/cinema/videogames. Once the prices come down even more (not bad as it is), resolution goes up and they shrink in size.
Think about it, True 3D imaging or a huge 2D screen whereever you go. If they could also make them semi-transparent kind of like sunglasses you could do graphic overlays ontop of reality. That would make for a pretty cool laser tag game with lasers flying around. |
