Good news, means I can start building my multi-TB movie server.

Does anyone know of any good enclosures that don't cost a fortune? I would like to have these features:

- gigabit ethernet port

- raid 0 (striping) with the ability to start with 1 drive and add up to 3 more (4 total), doesn't have to be hot-swap as long as it can add additional drives to the array

- must be able to access it as a windows share (samba)

- the less noise the better

Rob, why not just use a server or large PC housing, and load it up with 10 of these in the drive bays. Just use the computer as a movie server, and hook it up Gigabit using the MoBo's connection to your network.

I too will be interested in a Movie Server for the future.

$400 for a Terabyte. Wow. About 4 of those pooled together with ZFS in OS X 10.5 will be the bees knees in my household.

Love having more storage coming on a quarterly basis. This is why efficient use of HD space (AVC or VC-1) is important to me.

Rush: I think I've come to the same conclusion. It should be cheaper and also allows me to do some other things with it.

Hey Rob, check out the icy dock enclosures. Man do I love mine. I have the single one external. But they have others. I highly recommend the icy dock. You'll love it.
