If this was in AVCHD, it would have been a competitor to the Sanyo HD2

Sorry about posting a consumer 1 CCD Standard Definition camcorder.
I figured that it may be of interest to some of you.

Thanks Paulo. That's very interesting. I think it is relevant to keep track of what is happening in the consumer world. Many times I have heard "But my camcorder can do this ..."

Me, I still don't trust a camcorder I can't balance on my shoulder. But hey, I'm an old dude

Paulo,

We like pretty much any news on camcorders here. Thanks for posting it.

HD dreaming

It's camcorders like these that will make compelling videos. Why? Because it's the right size making it truly easy to have it in your pocket. I've always said that the best videos are usually those that aren't taken...because there was no camera handy. Now that excuse won't work anymore. Now, if only Panasonic would do this in HD....

You still have the Sanyo HD2 and the mistakenly announced Samsung SC-HMX10. Samsung pulled the information saying the specs will be different and they will re-announce it. That’s funny because JVC did exactly the same thing with the HD7. Samsung, knowing that they will be going up against Sanyo’s HD camcorders with much higher mega pixels, are probably increasing the pixels of the SC-HMX10 and since they have a license to use AVCHD, I expect this to be an impressive small camcorder. To bad it won’t be out for a while.

Maybe Samsung will replace it with the previous H264 HD camera they announced and canned. I think I would much have preferred the JVC to the Sanyo. Mega-pixels are not everything, an good 720p camera is worth it to me.

It is a pity that many AVCHD cameras have been so bad, what are they trying to do, keep Sanyo in business. I would love a better 60fps, 24mb/s 720p AVCHD.
