Great, so you've identified that your issues aren't due to basic encoding but are instead attributable to your specialized video application. You have intensive video with numerous simultaneous changes in non-adjacent regions of the screen - hardly the type of thing optimized by encoding algorithms.

This is a whole different story than the way your posting started out. And like the rest of us, you'll need to play with the setting and the characteristics of YouTube. Further, you'll learn in the future to carefully consider your camerawork and editing to help mitigate problems downstream. And in so doing, you too will become a master of the dark arts and having others wondering why they can't seem easily emulate your results.

lol, actually the opposite. Because it is a 30 second commercial my initial compression should yield a 75-90 mb file rather than a 25 mb file simply because the program material has a lot going on. In your situation the same compression works because the audience has time to focus on each shot and the background isn't absorbing as much data per second as a quick cutting commercial would.

Because my material is so short, I want a better initial encoding to handle all of the activity that is going on.
