How can I upload a >2Gb video to a video-sharing service? Why I'm asking - I ran into a new press-release of a new start-up below
http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/080605/clth040.html?.v=101 I can mail DVD them, but does it actually work? Help, guys, who know something about them? |
From your end, there should be no difference uploading a 2GB file or a 1k file. As long as your connection is fast enough and maintains connection through the upload, you should be fine.

I do this on a weekly routine; I edit a one hour TV show that is transmitted from Europe to a sattelite over Canada and the States. After compressing to MPEG at 6 Mbps, the file size is around 3 GB.
I break it up into 30 100 MB chunks using WinRAR, upload them to a server; on the other end, the sattelite ground station downloads the parts and puts them back together with the same software. |
