Got my first documentary accepted in a film festival....

Remember the documentary based on Philadelphia's Wingbowl titled "EAT!" well we submitted it to our first festival and it was accepted!!!!

It's going to be sometime in August located in Philly. Anyone from the tri-state area wanna go and meet me there let me know. I'll find out more info, as my partner was the one who submitted it- I'll find out the name of the festival, location, and times.

Contratulations on the acceptance. I should be so lucky next year when I finish mine. Good luck and have fun!

August 6th

Is that the only night it will be playing?

Daniel H. Buchmann July 28th, 2003 04:13 PM

Hey Glen,
I'm from the Philly area and am always interested in seeing local stuff. I'd like to go to the show and chat with you afterwards if possible.

Robert Poulton July 29th, 2003 02:15 AM

congrats. Will you be entering this short into other festivals around the country?

Rob:D

Ivan Hedley Enger July 29th, 2003 07:17 AM

Congrats! Well done.

Well sorry to post bad info- it's not really a "festival" per-say it's a screening I come to find out. They have a program called Fresh Frames and it's to display local Philadelphia film-makers work. Granted we aren't from philly (south jersey here) but it got accepted anyway. It'll be playing along with one other film that night.
I'm worried about the turnout because I haven't been pushing any of my friends to go beings we already had it shown at a local theatre in my town. We'll have to see how many show up- probably alot of new faces. Hopefully a few from this board.

Daniel let me know if your definitly going next wednesday night. I'll keep my eyes peeled though I don't have a way of knowing it's you. Btw, it'll be two of us me and my friend Jesse. I'll be the big guy with glasses. :)

Yes, one time only- Wednesday the 6th @ 8pm. I think tickets are $5.

Christian Bovine July 29th, 2003 10:17 AM

Ok

Well I hope to be there as well. And wouldn't mind talking about things after the film as well. I would love to ask you some questions about the production to gain some tips on a project I am currently working on.

Thanks
Christian

Great I hope the both of you make it. I think you'll really enjoy it- it's not your typical boring documentary...it's more like a docu-movie. Plus it's a comedy, plenty of laughs depending on your style of humor. Hope you have a strong stomach because there are some pretty graphic sceens. Most females can't even watch it.

Glen Elliott August 3rd, 2003 03:43 PM

Just reminding everyone that was planning on going that it's THIS wednesday night @ 8pm. I look forward to seeing some of you there- Here is the link to the website where you'll find info and a small write up about it-
http://www.princemusictheater.org/film/filmcomp.html
Scroll down to "Fresh Frames", then under "Food Night: Eat! and Chew On This!"
Ironicly enough the other film showing that night will be a 15 minute informative documentary about the benefits of a vegetarian diet. Could you find a more stark contrast of a peice to play the same night as "Eat!"?! lol Should be fun....
