Thank you, and normally I would agree with you on this.
Here the closeups where done on key moments in the interview, and they where also used for cutting the interview down from 7 minutes to 2 minutes.

Whenever possible, if I'm going from a moving shot to a static (or vice versa) I TRY to use a dissolve IF it doesn't look out of place to "soften" the effect of the transition.

CAVEAT: In Boudewijn's video, it looks completely natural to me.

I'd also guess that you'd want to sync up a multi-cam shoot using a flash or slate.
