Dolly track: PVC or ABS?

Does anyone see any differences between using ABS versus PVC track for skateboard dollies? Is one quieter than the other? Is one smoother than the other?

Thanks much.

PVC is supposed to be a little quieter and more dampened. I have 1-1/2" schedule 40 ABS pipe connected using Long Valley Equipment's track pack connectors. 1.5" schedule 40 is ideal as it'll fit most dolly wheels out there, and it's still lightweight yet solid and stable enough to take a fully loaded platform dolly for a ride, yes, even with Fat Albert on board.

I guess the only real advantage to ABS pipe is that it's black, which isn't as reflective and looks a little more professional. Still, with some Pledge sprayed on and more importantly solid and secure connections and *cleanly* cut ends; they're both very good. I prefer 4' lengths over the defacto standard of 5' as 4' fits across the length of the back seat of a car or SUV easily and thus more space efficient.

Black ABS pipe, however, has become exceedingly rare it seems. In fact, I can't seem to find it at any hardware stores anymore. I don't know what's going on. I wish I could find some more as I would like some new glistening ABS, and I'd luck to try out the pipe cutters I bought to see how cleanly they cut.
