I'll throw my name in, though I'll probably end up on the wall.

Ten days ago, I was editing when I looked down to see a wet footprint in the carpet under where my foot was, right next to my editing station. We had a hot water pipe leak, and the pipe leaked at both ends: one end in the office where my editing station is and one end in the kitchen. Lots of drywall has been ripped out, lots of kitchen counters have been ripped out, lots of $$ has been spent. But the bottom line is that my editing station and office are a shambles, making it hard to cut something together for the DVC.

But, if I have an inspired idea using the theme, maybe I'll shoot something quick and put my editing station back together to take my mind off the mess... :)

Cheers,
Bill

I'm 50% in. Depends on timing of a furniture redo in my studio this week.

Couldn't pull off the two entries thing, but I did at least grab some neat behind the scenes stuff.

Yes, that movie should be in the DVC Hall of Fame. Hilarious, still! Must have winded Mike, too, though—he hasn’t done one since then, has he? (Aside to Jesse: In one of the DVCs I edited a bunch of nonsense we got from NAB for an entry and then threw together a movie on my own as well. You can do it, Jesse!)

Been thinking about this, Robert, hoping I understood your question. The two words combined actually work! The biggest problem I see is that it would narrow the scope to where we might end up with too much of the same interpretation. Another problem is that I may not get Dylan’s ear again between now and Thursday, so maybe we’ll leave it just the one word as usual for this round. Indecisive person that I am, I think I’ll flip a coin on Thursday morning.

Hi All,

I'm way too busy to do this, but I'll try. What the heck, wall on the last one and maybe this time too.

Hey Bruce, that's a nice camera! How do you like it?

I love mine...

I think it's great. The tape-less workflow can't be beat. The resolution of the images blows away my hvr-z1, and being able to edit hd with intermediate files just completes the picture. As soon as I can afford it I am going to replace the z1 with another on of those. How long have you had yours? Any bad points you have noticed (other than the cost of the chips)?

Dylan Couper February 27th, 2008 02:31 PM

(pssst.... this is the sign up thread, not the camera talk thread!) :)

Lorinda Norton February 27th, 2008 02:43 PM

Oops, the big dog showed up!!

Sorry, D…I’m fallin’ down on the job already… :)

Bob Thieda February 27th, 2008 02:51 PM

OK....Are we ready?

I'll be logged on about 5:30 am CST tomorrow lookin' for that theme....

Lorinda Norton February 27th, 2008 03:00 PM

Easy, boy! Not yet. :)

You might be waiting awhile, Bob. I’ll be posting the theme as soon as I wake up. That’ll be Mountain Time (one hour ahead of Dylan time) + whatever this rotten cold does to me by morning.

…Unless I’m up all night, in which case it could be really, really early!

We’ve only got 36 challengers so far (if I counted through all the nonsense correctly), so if anyone else would like to join the party, this would be a great time to sign up!

Bob Thieda February 27th, 2008 03:19 PM

And I thought I was giving you plenty of time waiting until I got to work, instead of when I awake... ;)

Lorinda Norton February 27th, 2008 03:57 PM

Good heavens, you get to work early! Hmm….well, I’ll tell ya what. If you have to get up that early, so can I. I’ll set my alarm, hope I hear it, and plan to post the theme at *gulp* 4:30 a.m. MST. If my fingers counted it out right, that should be around noon-ish for those signed up from across the ocean.

Oh man...I am NOT a morning person. Hope I can pull this off. :)

Bob Thieda February 27th, 2008 05:04 PM

Lorinda, for a whip cracker, your pretty accommodating.....

Please don't change your schedule on my part....I can suffer through a few more hours of the unknown... :)

Jim Montgomery February 27th, 2008 05:35 PM

Lorinda, just pm the theme to me tonight (those little leather things again OK?) ahem... and I will be sure to get it posted by 4 am est.

Jim

Carlos Rodriguez February 28th, 2008 12:38 AM

if it's not too late... I'll give it a whack...

Lorinda Norton February 28th, 2008 01:09 AM

You're not too late; as a matter of fact, sign up will remain open until March 9!

P.S. to Jim: Keep in mind I get to judge your film... ;)

Denton Kukahiko February 28th, 2008 01:50 PM

We are in

I love the theme and we are in! Good luck everyone. I can't wait to see what people come up with.

Aloha,
Denny

Jesse Steele February 28th, 2008 02:39 PM

can someone that hasn't signed before the topic is posted still join after the topic is up?

Lorinda Norton February 28th, 2008 03:20 PM

Yes, it's fine! Dylan used to close the sign up thread once the theme was posted, but in the last several Challenges he's left it open.

Phillip Marlowe March 5th, 2008 01:17 PM
