Oh YEAH, THE DVC7 PRIZE!!!

Oh.... and by the way...
Not only does the winner get to donate several hundred dollars to the charity of their choice... they also get to take home an EW-112 Sennheiser Evolution G2 Wireless from our sponsors Guy Cochran and the www.dvestore.com

Which will make this a very, very Merry Christmas for someone... not me though because I can't win my own competition, which is fine because I have one of these badass units anyway, and it's been probably the most solid piece of audio gear I've ever owned. Love it! You guys are spoiled...

You mean you haven't signed up for DVC7 yet??? GO SIGN UP, it isn't too late, but at this point you'd better be donating to our charity pool, see the sign up thread for details!

Mike Horrigan December 8th, 2006 11:06 AM

WOW! That's awesome!

Chris Barcellos December 8th, 2006 11:14 AM

Thank you Guy !! Even though we do it purely for love, this will certainly add incentive....

Michael Fossenkemper December 8th, 2006 11:40 AM

Holy dooodaaaa. That is an AWESOME prize. I'm so excited and giggly.

If Guy wasn't a guy, I'd marry him.

Bradley L Marlow December 8th, 2006 02:15 PM

Thank you Guy!

What a great prize donation! Much appreciated by all I'm sure.

Best wishes~
Bradley

Mike Teutsch December 8th, 2006 03:23 PM

Thank you Guy!

Very nice to have you supporting us here! Please keep it up.

Thanks Guy

OK, since it is the season for giving, I'll give again too. I have a prototype track dolly here that will go to whoever Dylan says should have it. It's gathering dust and taking up room so here it is.

Good luck to all and I hope it goes to someone who can use it. Free shipping by me to the 48 states, if it goes overseas we'll work it out.

Santa :)

WOW! I would love to have that setup! How about Canada?
I'm more than willing to pay for shipping! :)

So... will this go to the winner? I don't think I have much of a shot...

Oh well... it will be fun just for the experience of it all. I followed the last challenge quite closely and you all did a great job!

Great bunch of people here...

Mike

As a disclaimer, my nice tripod is NOT included. Just put it in for perspective.

Mike

Michael Fossenkemper December 8th, 2006 04:59 PM

hahahaha, I was wondering about that tripod.

Mike, that's a very generous donation to the prize pool (dolly only). thanks.

By the way the script is coming along, the only way i'll ever see that dolly is in someone else's short. uuuhhhhgggg.

Poor Robert has received about 20 script revisions in one day.

Script? Oh crap! I knew I was forgetting something.

;)

Cool dolly Mike, you sweetened the prize.
It looks like it can put out some good work.

I'm normally the dolly and jib for most of my films. :P

Dylan Couper December 18th, 2006 06:52 PM

Good stuff Mike!

Not a chance, but if lightning strikes we will leave it up to Dylan. Maybe second place or a noteworthy entry. I just try to help.

I'm proud to report that my DVC7 film starts with a dolly shot using the Mike Teutsch dolly I received after DVC5. If only my skills with my tripod's floating head were worthy of the dolly itself. I've also used it on a few other shoots recently and it is a wonderful tool.

I will note that the term "Mike Teutcsh dolly" is far too cumbersome, so I've taken to abbreviating it as the "Teutsch-y", as in "When I say action, push my Teutschy gently towards the actors". For some reason, I occasionally get strange looks from the crew...

Bill

Michael Fossenkemper December 18th, 2006 11:05 PM

hahahaha, that's good. Teutsch-y

Mike Teutsch December 19th, 2006 07:30 AM

Since you guys probably aren't pronouncing my name correctly anyhow, you could just call it the:

"Tushy-Pushy" :)

Michael Fossenkemper December 19th, 2006 10:02 AM

I'm looking at the spelling, and for the life of me I can't figure out how it's supposed to sound. You must get tired of spelling it out. when people hear my last name, they get a fog over their eyes about halfway through. most just cut off 2/3rds and just say Fosse.

When people look at Deutsch they have no problem, but when we change the "D" to a "T" they do!

Mike Toych

Michael Fossenkemper December 19th, 2006 10:18 AM

ahhhhhhh, got it. I guess the joke isn't as funny now.

Bruce Foreman December 19th, 2006 10:22 AM

I worked for an NCO a few decades ago who had a name that if your looked at his nametag before trying to say it...You were dead.

SSgt Yackaniczw

Took me about 3 weeks to finally realize that I had to look away before addressing him by title and name.

Pronounced Yah-SKAH-nich...

Michael Fossenkemper December 19th, 2006 10:35 AM

Having such a difficult last name myself, i've always been interested in last names. I've done some research into mine and found that sometime after the civil war, the spelling was changed. We found my great great great, well not sure how many greats, grandfather's civil war discharge papers and it was spelled Vossenkemper. Then I tried to figure out what it ment. So far i've come up with, Bender of wood (or barrel maker), I've also come up with warrior.

Yours Truely,
Mike the Wood Bender.

Most fascinating Mike. However, I not sure how far outside this little forum I would take that (if it was me). eh...eh...eh...jk

lol Kris! Most excellent indeed

Alex T. Hurter December 19th, 2006 04:53 PM

Ah the difficult last names problem rears it's head again. The funny thing is I never thought my last name was that difficult, but I ever since I can remember it's been a problem.
No one seems to read HURTER when they read my last name. They see HUNTER, HARDER, HARTER, HERTER (at least that one would sound right), and yes even HOOPER.
