Jan Crittenden, get well soon!
Some of y'all may already be aware of this, I think we're probably the last site to report it... unfortunately Jan Crittenden Livingston was recently injured in an automobile accident during the Sundance film festival in Park City, Utah. Although the outcome could have been much worse, she has suffered a busted knee and some other injuries. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers and wish her a speedy recovery.
Jan is the Panasonic Pro Line product manager for the DVX and HVX series camcorders and has been a long-time member here. Having suffered a knee injury myself in the past, I can tell you it is no fun at all and new dimensions of pain are discovered in that process. I say bring on the copious meds and plenty of rest. Get well soon, Jan! Hope to see you fully recovered at NAB. (thanks to Noah Kadner for the update via email) |

Yikes!
A speedy recovery to you, Jan! I'm glad it was no worse. |
Get well, Jan!
I owe a huge debt to Panasonic for making such a great camera -- and though I didn't have the chance to meet Jan at Sundance, here's hoping for a speedy and complete recovery!

Sorry for getting to this late.
I was very sad to read this note about Jan. I had the opportunity to meet her in 2004. She is an extremely credible and enthusiastic representative for Panasonic's Pro line and just a plain ol' nice person. I, too, wish her a rapid and complete recovery. |
I am so sorry this happened to you Jan. You have my best wishes
for a complete recovery, but having had a knee injury myself, it is going to take a while to come back 100%. It won't be easy for someone as hard working as you to be laid up. Hang in there! I hope to see you and the ground breaking results of your work again this year at NAB. Aloha! |
Hi everyone,
Thanks for all of the well wishing. I will be okay and right now as my patellar tendon reattaches to the new bottom of the patella, I am in pretty low pain mode. It hurts but nothing like it did. I lost about 40% of my patella in the accident. I had excellent care at the LDS hospital in SLC and some really super people that got me through, the best being my husband who I will personally nominate for sainthood. Anyhow full recovery is expected but it will take about 3-4 months minimum and this means that I get to have one of those cool motorized carts at NAB to steer around. That is if Panaosnic and my doctor agree that I can make the trip. Anyhow your good wishes are most welcomed and I do appreciate the thoughts. Best to all, Jan |
