This was the ultimate challenge, both to find time and an idea to film.
I ended up in a hurry, so unfortunately there was no time for VO. Therefore, I had to use some text instead.

Hey Trond,

Congrats on finishing!
Always love seeing nature films!
I do wish you could have had the time for the VO because I had to look away from your visuals to read the text.

My favorite shot is at :19. I think it's a shot a lot of other shooters would have passed by but it's the type of shot I love. Loved the snow falling and the creek or river rushing behind it.

I played it fullscreen at 1080p to get the most enjoyment from it.

Trond, that has to be one of the shorter entries on record (next to the 30-second PSA that won this challenge a few years ago). I was just getting into the crazy Christmas bit when it faded to black! But that's okay. Better to keep your audience engaged. :)

Please tell me you increased the velocity (Vegas term) on the bird footage. If not, those little things are lightning fast! But I enjoyed it very much, partly because I can't have bird feeders anymore due to climbing cats that are great hunters.

The text was fine with me because you lingered on the images long enough for me to drink them in. Your forest images were beautiful, as always!

VO was the plan, but I ran out of time on new years eve. Text was the only available option, unfortunately.

Lorinda,
All sequences, including the birds, are shot at standard speed. No velocity changes.
Those birds are really fast flyers, and what you see is how it was.
Trying to film them in flight is a nightmare. But one day I might succeed. :)

I really enjoyed watching your film. I especially liked the busy birds. Lorinda is right, they are really quick. I spend a lot of time photographing birds and some of them are nearly impossible to capture because they are so fast and do not stay in one place very long.

Thanks very much for this short - I had a similar idea, but no time!
The woodland photography was excellent, and the bird house also - perhaps would have been nice for some different views of the bird house, but I know when time is pressing, its easier said than done!

Yes, different views and shooting angles would be better. But due to the weather, I shot the bird house through the livingroom windows.

Great that you were able to tackle the project and find a solution to your problem of running out of time for voiceover. I enjoyed the questioning that you utilized with the text and answering the questions with your images. I also enjoyed your choice of music selection.

I sympathize Trond – not easy to film something when there is little opportunity, bad weather and few inspiring ideas.

It is a pity that you could not get out to film more, particularly of scenes of your beautiful countryside, as there are some really nice shots in there.

Definitely hope you get better weather next time!

Very funny. Trond as usual you capture the essence of whatever it is we
are all trying to tackle with these films. I have to ask, are those your words or did you
find them along the way, because they speak volumes.

Nice images as always!! At least you finished!! all I had was an idea that was much how I eat, eyes being bigger than my mouth!!

lacking time you at least got some script up. I wont make a single comment on any improvements as you know them I am sure.

Your shots needed nothing in my book, nice as always!!! You have gotten pretty competent with that new camera!!

I liked the low roofed bird feeder and will be making one like that soon!!!

Yep, it was all about staying afloat and in the game this time. Failing to submit was not an option. :)

Yes, the bird feeder "house" seem to be pretty popular. We have some feeding posts, with the exact same food, hanging in a nearby tree as well, but it appears the birds prefer the house.

Can't wait to next uwol. I'm sooo ready!
