Failed DVD burn
 

I encoded a short I did with Premiere 6.5's mpeg2 encoder. I then brought that mpeg as well as a menu mpeg I built then encoded, into Architect. I did a burn onto a DVD-RW. However, it will not work in either of my DVD players...but PowerDVD on my sys seems to read and play the DVD fine. Its probably a newb problem...so bare with me.

Your not exactly asking a question, now are you? But I'm assuming
you'd like to know why it won't play it.... This is my personal
list of most compatible media:

1. DVD-R
2. DVD+R
3. DVD+RW
4. DVD-RW

Notice how yours is on the bottom of the list. Most players really
dislike RW media (remember that most cd players in cars don't
even take CD-RW and that has been out long). Stick with either
-R or +R for reading in a settop player.

But even then you have NO garantuees it will be readable on ALL
players. Only way to do that is to get it pressed. More and more
players read all kind of DVD media, but certainly older models
have problems.

I have the same problem. If I burn to DVD-R, it works fine. Now I just use DVD-RW to be sure I've got the DVD just right (using the computer), then burn to DVD-R. Less coasters that way...

Most "TV top" DVD players wont playback + or - RW DVD's.

I don't know if this is the reasoning behind it, but i look at it this way when it comes to my PC's DVD burner.........

RW = backup media for my PC's files
R = published media for use on my PC, or a TV top DVD player
