Previewing DVDs w/o DVD-RW

I'm trying to nail down some overlays with DVDSP 2, and I keep having to redo them because of the software's hatred for anti-aliased edges. I imagine that DVD-RW is the most efficient way to test this on a set-top DVD player, but I have an older 12-inch PowerBook with a SuperDrive that only does DVD-R. I don't like having to waste DVD-Rs making preview copies every time I try to fix the tiny errors in the images. The DVDSP simulator, naturally, is no help with this, nor is previewing the .psd files in FCP with external video because the problem only happens once DVDSP gets mad at the anti-aliased edges I haven't fixed. Viewing a build in the Apple DVD player doesn't show me the errors that I see on set-top players. Does anyone have a cool way to view my DVDSP project in NTSC without putting it on a DVD? I would appreciate any suggestions, reasonable, wild or otherwise.

I have no idea what other options there would be. You have
DVD emulation on a computer (you might be able to get this out
to an NTSC monitor/TV etc.?), other than that only burning
remains.

Even if your burner would support RW there is a chance your
standalone player does not. On the PC it is quite cheap to get
a new burner, if that is possible on the Mac as well for not too
much money you may want to consider upgrading?

from what i understand, you should never use anti-aliased graphics for dvd encoding... so it's not just a dvdsp issue.

see if you can control the bitrate that the grapics are encoded at, higher the better.
