15 hour render to DVD

Hi all, Ive rendered a 2 hour 35 min dvd direct from premier pro 2 timeline to a dual layer disk (15 hours!) ,Im tried DVD shrink to make it fit on a single layer disk for cost purposes and the pain in the **** of burning dual layers but pixlation occurs on action close to the screen (Boxing).
Any recomendations or suggestions before I test another render would be highly desirable

cheers Russ

Just do a test render of the most action and detail intensive scenes. A 2h35m movie might be tought to fit on a DVD-R, but it should not be impossible if your footage is stable and clean. Assuming you have an 192kbps soundtrack, your average bit rate should be 3.5Mbps. With dual-layer media it should look glorious at 6.6Mbps.

Home-burned dual layers will have compatibility issues on different players. Personally I would go with two single layer DVDs. Those 15 hours sound correct though... MainConcept is not fast.
