good job, what lenses?

Nice work Michael.
You live in Reb Bank! lol, I work in Eatontown on route 35. |
I used a 24-105 f4, 24mm 2.0 and a 15mm 2.8
As you can tell, the video is all handheld. I've since purchased the Zacuto Rapid Fire and a 24-70mm 2.8 |
Oh, and a little background on this day. It was not only my first full wedding shooting with an unfamiliar camera, we got 3 feet of snow that day so I had to drive my wifes SUV to the wedding. I'm not familiar with her new car at all. (took me 3 hours to get home because of the snow) So I had to learn a new camera and new car on the same day. The day was very rushed so everything was "run and gun" all day.

Just a small note. When you take a video of an inanimate object, it sometimes works better to just take a hi-res photo instead and pan in post unless you want to get some kind of dof changes or orbiting type shot. Otherwise, very nice job. Kinda gutsy to do a wedding with a 7D. Run and gun, and steady cam shots are very hard to do. Tripod shots during the ceremony are much easier of course.

About how much storage did you have on hand for the camera? Did you use all of it?
Just curious about how the 7D processes and stores 1080i footage. |

Makes sense to me, thanks for sharing. Your footage turned out great. :)

Pretty Cool.. and gutsy like someone else said.
Were you hired to do video for this wedding and if so what did the bride & groom think of you shooting it on an SLR? Lastly, what kind of lighting did you use? Cheers. |
HI Dennis. The bride's father hired me about 2 weeks before the wedding. I charged him 1/3 of what I normally charge for a wedding because I knew I would be practicing with the 7D. I'm good friends with the photographer and I reached out to him to see if he had any upcoming brides that weren't interested in a video and would go for it on a cheap end. I used a 50 watt Bescor light during the reception which I found out is way too bright. Here is my latest video which is just less than a month later. You can see how much I improved in just a few weeks..
