Corporate Video Entirely w 7D

Heres a corporate project I finished last week shot entirely with the Canon EOS 7D. Edit and Grading in EDIUS.

The crane shots were done with a DIY 13 foot jib. But otherwise, all the dolly/track shots were done with the DIY mini track & jib.
How to make the DIY mini track & Jib in this thread;

Good job Ted, some cool shots there.

Thanks Liam,

I was really "pushing it" when I decided to shoot the wide facades with the 7D knowing it produces moire and artifacting.
I had the HD100 and HD200 with 35 adapter on standby but decided to "prove a point" that viewers don't care about us techies pixel peeping the image.

The gambit paid off cuz even though this was shown on a couple of huge screens (10.5 x 14 FEET) during the launch nobody noticed the limitations of the camera's binning method of CMOS reading.

I agree 100%, tell the story and the viewers will watch.

Good job on this one... I looks really good.

Nice work, Ted.

Thanks Tony.

Looks great! Love the crane-shot on the roof, where the crane goes up and you're getting a great view over the city.

Timelapse shots also done with the 7D?

Ted Ramasola February 9th, 2010 02:21 PM

Michiel,

Thanks for the compliments.

The "timelapse" was also shot by the 7D.

I don't have an intervalometer yet so I just left the 7d to record long shots. After it stops at 12ish minutes i merely press record again.

Michiel van Baasbank February 10th, 2010 12:38 PM

You had no issues with the 'overheating'-bug during those long takes?

Ted Ramasola February 10th, 2010 08:47 PM

Michiel,

I encountered overheating on other situations, however, during the long takes, I insert a USB cable into the camera to turn off its LCD, maybe that helps in slowing down the heat build up.
