Install FCP X on 2 systems?
 

One of the rumors: you can only install FCP X on one system. True? Has anyone installed FCP X on 2 systems?

I just stumbled across the answer: you can download it to 2 systems. Supposedly I can just sign in with my Apple ID and download an extra copy to my Macbook Pro.

I actually tested this, I have FCP X installed on my MacBook Pro and an iMac. No problem. I believe if the two are on the same network you can't run both at the same time.

The license agreement states for personal use you can install it on any mac you own or control. For commercial use in a business or school the terms are different.

Just to test it at my house I installed it on my macbook pro, mac pro, and imac. Ran them all at the same time with out issue.

Another silly rumour that is probably embraced by many that see FCPX as the anti-christ...

A great thing about the App Store is that I can legally and very easily install it on all my computers.

As an app store app, you may download and install FCP X on any of your computers via your app store account. You may have FCP X open on multiple computers.

Will it run without an active Internet account? Say you are on your laptop without Internet access but wanted to work on a project.

Seems like I read or heard that you couldn't.

Hi Mark.

Once you download it through the App Store (and this will require internet access of some kind) it installs itself and you are done. Thereafter it's a permanent app on your computer, regardless of whether you will be connected to the internet or not.
