Livetype crashes on any render

My livetype crashes on almost any render I do. Preview, final doesnt matter. I may squeeze one through every 40 times. This is for anything too, just plain text on backround even..
I formatted machine when i got FCP4, its clean running 10.2.6 and QT 6.3 pro

Any ideas or is everyone else having this problem?

I have not had this problem. It's worked fine so far on my 867MHz Quicksilver with 1.5GB of memory.

Overall, I can't say that it runs all that fast, however.

What kind of file are you trying to render? How long? How many layers etc.?

Joe Lloyd June 17th, 2003 12:14 PM

2 layers only.

Seems it crashes with multiple lines of text.

If i have one line saying" Curbsyse" its ok
but when I put " Curbsyde
Productions"

it crashes

I just got FCP4 last night. Looks like live type will be a fun and VERY usefull tool.

I tried:

- 3 lines of text, with horz. fad in transisions (effects?)
- Moving Background (the smoke one)
- An object - the one where it looks like light thru moving windows.

Output no problem. No crash. Have not tried to render yet, but when I get home I will post my results. Hope this helps.

I've spent about 8 hours with LiveType since I received it last Friday. It hasn't crashed once for me. I'm using a G4 1.25GHz DP with 1.5Gb RAM, if that helps in the troubleshooting. I've rendered files with up to 10 tracks with lots of text (plain and Live) in both preview and full-tilt-boogey. No problemo.

Joe, Do you have any non-standard fonts on your computer (in the fonts folder)? There may be a problem with Livetype and some fonts. Also, corrupted fonts will cause crashing.

Joe Lloyd June 24th, 2003 09:48 PM

No, just the standard ones.
