Upgrading to Leopard... Do I need uninstall and reregister all pro apps?

Hi all,
I'm about to upgrade to Leopard (mac pro 2.66), and currently have
FCP Studio2 and Adobe CS3 Applications as part of my system.

It's my understanding the cleanest install of Leopard will be a wipe/erase and install, but before i do this, do i need to uninstall and unregister my Adobe and FCP apps?

Then install and reregister them all?

Or can i simply erase/install Leopard, then just reinstall my Pro Applications without hiccup from Adobe or Apple regarding usage, upgrades or rights?

Thanks,
Lonnie

Lonnie,

The Adobe apps want you to use the "deactivate" option in their menu, then when you reinstall the app it won't give you the "this installation exists on another machine..." error.

Apple apps don't seem to mind how many times they get installed.

Here's a few quick tips for installing Leopard:

Buy a new HDD for the install; don't erase your current OS drive just in case things don't go well you can simply re-install 10.4 and get back to work without having to spend all day re-installing your apps.

Leopard ships with QT 7.2.1. (read carefully) UNLESS on your current machine you have already upgraded to QT 7.3, don't. There are about a dozen different issues that have cropped up with QT 7.3 that haven't been fixed yet, either by Apple or the third party vendors. Stay with QT 7.2 until they've been worked out. (do a search on this and the Apple forums and you'll see the multitude of complaints.)

Robert,
I was hoping to hear from your learned self - and thanks!
