MacBookPro - How long is product update cycles?
I was wondering (if its possible to know) how often they update the MacBookPros?
How long does the current generation of MacBookPro go up before a new model replaces it? How long are the cycles in between models? 6 months, or twice a year? |

As Andy says, new MacBook Pro's were recently introduced (on February 26:http://www.forbes.com/2008/02/26/app...0226apple.html)
I just bought my MacBook Pro a couple weeks before that, but honestly I don't feel like I missed much. Aside from a very slight speed bump, the most compelling upgrade seems to be the multi-touch trackpad (like the MacBook Air has). But the point is, I needed a MacBook Pro two weeks earlier, so I chose the model which best met my needs and bought it. Waiting for the "next big thing" is a losing game IMO. If you need a computer, buy it. If you can wait, wait. It's a given that the next model of any computer will be faster/cooler/better/cheaper so it's always a good idea to wait until you really need to upgrade. |
