downsize 1280x720 50fps h264 to SD 720x576 25fps dv pal in FCP 5.0
Hi I have a vx 2000 and I want to know how I can downsize this 1280x720 footy and load it my SD timeline.

Just try exporting it from quicktime, as a quicktime movie. Change it to DV PAL... once you see the options it should be self explanatory. You probably want it progressive as opposed to interlaced.

yeah i alrady did that but didnt work i think the hd footage is in native 16:9 with film bars

So you want the 16:9 hi def footage to become 4:3 CROPPED footage? If so:
-Nest the HD sequence into an SD sequence -With the SD sequence active, in the canvas, enable image AND wireframe mode via the drop down menu -Use the image size drop down to ensure the image is smaller than the grey "workspace" -Find a corner handle and drag the image size (the nested sequence) until it fills the 4:3 frame and pan if necessary for framing -Render |

I heard it gives not the same result as a real 50i or 60i original image?
A colleague therefore captures with a Decklink card outputting the Component from a JVC-HD200 to get the real result, as he doesn't find a proper workflow at the moment on the Mac. |
