Motion Optical Flow Work flow

hello please can someone help cause this is driving me mad
im shooting 50i on sony hvr v1 , shutter speed says 50
My sequence preset is HDV 1080 50
capture preset is HDV Apple intermediate codec
and devise is sony hdv firewire
when u finish the optical flow retiming in motion and transport it back to final cut i get wavey ( almost like acid trip lines coming off it ) i tried this on a tester of me shaking my head fast, slowed it to 50% and it looks terrible
what am i doing wrong, please help, and when do u deinterlace, before or after ,motion

regards luke

does anyone have a workflow????

AFAIK you should be using progressive scan footage with Optical Flow, not interlaced. That would explain the wavy lines.

Although having said that I have never had much luck with Optical Flow at all. You really have to be careful about your original footage and how it is shot in order to use it.
