Mac - FCP - Toast - DVD
 

Hi Folks,

I've got a quick/ simple question that I need a simple step by step answer to.

I've got 3 short DV clips (3:33 each) on the timeline all from different films.

I would like to put the all on one DVD as separate films. My instructions are:

• Do not use complicated menus or time-consuming processes: one action should
be sufficient to view the next work. Make sure a DVD is able to fast-forward and
skip to the next piece.
• The menu must be set up as 'play first'.
- The DVD should be able to play on any system.


I am on a Macbook Pro with FCP (Latest) and have Toast. Oddly enough, I have never done this before. Can someone please point a step by step way.

Well, by using Toast there will be no issue re complex menus as it doesn't really have any!

All you do is load toast, select DVD and drag and drop your videos in the pane. You can select the image displayed for each clip by clicking on it and dragging the cursor through the film. By clicking on edit you can change the name etc. That's about it. Can't do much else

One advantage of using Toast is that it will accept m2v files from Compressor so you can get good quality from it - it will ask if you want to add the audio..

Yeah...... I had the process figured out in 2 minutes shortly after my post. Only had to walk through it.

I use DVD studio pro, as opposed to toast. In Studio Pro you can not skip to the next video unless all the videos are edited together as one in final cut first. You can add the chapter markers in final cut, so that they can skip to the next video.
