How do I view Quicktime files in correct format size?
How do I view a QuickTime file in it’s correct frame size on my MBP.
I have rendered out to a self-contained Prores 16.9 QuickTime file but the QuickTime viewer is displaying incorrectly. I have never bothered with this before but it’s bugging me now. Is there a way to view files made in their correct resolution size? Thanks Nick |

Hi,
Not too sure of all of your details but if you have QT Player Pro, you should be able to change it by going to "Show Movie Properties" and click on the 'Presentation' tab and check "Conform aperture to:" and switch the drop down to 'Clean Aperture' - that should switch the QT File display to whatever was stored as the clean aspect in the file. Greg, that's very interesting. I never payed any attention to that setting in QT. Anyone looking to know more abut it should check out QuickTime Pro: About the Conform aperture settings and http://www.digitalrebellion.com/blog...esolution.html

Hi Mike,
Yes its handy but I should also mention its a setting that should be used with a little bit of caution. It's great for setting that to view NTSC WideScreen DV Files in QT Player at Widescreen BUT if you save a QT Movie with this setting and then try to open up that QT Movie in another 3rd party application then that 3rd party application might import the NTSC DV Widescreen movie as 853x480 and not 720x480 - which may or may not be what a user would want. Just FYI. Cheers, Greg |
