Outputting the monitor to a DVD recorder from FCX4.0?

Let's say you set Final Cut Expres 4.0 to "Digital Cinema Desktop Preview," and then you connect the monitor out of your imac to a mini DVI -> component video converter, and then you run a cable into a DVD recorder; shouldn't you be able to record your completed project using RT extreme without have to render or export?

I'm guessing the quality wouldn't be the same, but if you like what you see on the monitor, is this an option for creating realtime DVDs?

Thanks for your thoughts.

How are you getting your audio over? Surely this isn't embedded in your HDMI out.
Not too familiar with Express but look for "Print to Tape" which basically renders and preps your timeline for live output.

The audio will actually be created live--that's part of the reason I got this idea.

I'm trying to create video templates which can be quickly changed by reconnecting to different media (once the original media had been re-named or moved) which will then be played for a live audience who will respond aurally to the video stimulus.

Several room mics will be mixed down to a stereo pair, and that will be run to the DVD recorder's audio in.
