In more detail can you describe the problem. By screen frozen, do you mean your mouse courser doesn't move or the mouse moves but none of the operations work?

Michael McConnell July 3rd, 2004 09:43 AM

my cursor is moving but my operations dont work--I try to click on the programs but it doesnt work.

Have you rebuilt your desktop, and zapped the p-ram?

Michael McConnell July 4th, 2004 05:58 AM

No I haven't--I haven't toyed around with much on this Mac yet.

Jeff Donald July 4th, 2004 02:20 PM

I would try zapping the P-RAM first. Hold down the Apple Key, Option key and the P and R keys at start up. Hold the keys down until you've heard the startup chime 4 times. Some of your control panels may me reset, such as date, time and location. Then rebuild the desktop. Restart the computer, this time only hold down the Apple Key and the Option Key at startup. A window will appear that asks if you want to rebuild the desktop, answer yes and you should be good to go.
