Is there a way to convert iMovie's still images to jpg?

My editing computer isn't on but doesn't save frame as work? I think you get a choice of jpeg or pict.

I don't recall getting a choice of which format to save it as in iMovie.

I was doing something similar yesterday amd when I clicked on the item and then clicked on file, save frame as, it gave me the choice (it wasn't what I wanted since I was trying to save a sound clip).

Which version of iMovie?

In iMovie3, you do have a choice of saving a frame to pict or jpg. Always choose jpg, because there's a bug in the software: saving to pict will produce something cropped off on the right. May have been fixed in iMovie4.

Well, I have iMovie4 and I just now tried and it did not give me a choice.

I selected Edit/Create Still Frame...and once I clicked on it, it just created the still frame and placed it on the right panel without prompting me for which format.

Once you have the frame then you click on it and can choose save frame as. That way you can tweak it in other programs. In terms of what iMovie thinks it is, it doesn't really matter.
