Export situation ...

Hello all,

I am having a export problem using FCS2. I have a finished projet that has footage from a PD-150. All is done and in the good format (16:9). When I export I get a 4:3 format. I tried all that is availible to me (compressor etc ... )

I dont know what I am dooing wrong ...

Any Ideas?

Thank you

I think you want to find/set an "anamorphic" setting, not necessarily 16:9.

My A/V settings are DV NTSC 48khz Anamorphic ...

How are you viewing the exported video? Older versions of Quicktime did not properly "understand" 16:9 but this seems to be fixed in newer versions. Also, older versions of FCP did not correctly set the anamorphic flag for exports as I recall. Again, the newer versions seem to have fixed this.

Hi,

I am using FCS2 and Quicktime 7.6.2 ... My software is pretty new.

Hmmm.....maybe something in your FCP Sequence settings? Are they set to anamorphic? Did you try restarting your system? Did you do all this?

1) Start with a Easy Setup>DV Anamorphic
2) Import footage
3) Double-check that the imported footage is listed correctly in the Browser columns. (anamorphic, 16:9, etc...)
4) Drop clips into timeline (you shouldn't get the error message that says "Do you want to conform the timeline to match your clip?")
5) Edit
6) Export using Compressor
7) Choose Compressor setting DVD>Best Quality 90 Minute (make sure 16:9 anamorphic is set in both the Encoder tab and if necessary the Geometry tab)
