dv start/stop detection
When using the dv start/stop detection command in FCP it places markers on the clip everywhere the camera started and stopped recording. My question is, can FCP name the markers the same name of the actual clip it's analyizing ie:clip1,clip2 etc: instead of the default "SEGMENT 1,SEGMENT 2 ? I would not want to rename all of them individually especially if there were alot of clips.
I've tried adding comments etc: to the logging field but to no avail. Anybody else using this feature ?? If so is there a workaround ?? Thanks. |
I use the feature but am unaware of a workaround for what you describe. You may try the LA FCP User Group website as alot of highly skilled FCP folks hang out there.

Thanks Ernest. I'll try all the FCP user groups, since I'm not getting any answers other than yours that I posted on other FCP forums.

Have you tried to set the first Marker (and name it) on the "logging" tab manually as well as naming the "bin"? I haven't tried it myself since I specifically try NOT to break timecode while recording. It's a good question though, let us know if you figure it out.

Kind of but not really. I;ll try it out in more detail after I finish this current job I'm working on , must be done by Fri. I'll keep you posted.

I tried setting the first marker but that doesn't work either. It uses the name you give it but the dv/start stop command doesn't work on markers only on clips.
