Bizarre...

Unless I'm not looking well, I can't seem to find the iMovie HD clips for my short film I captured. It's like they disappeared completely from my hard drives...Did I do something wrong?

Dood, run a search in Finder for all ".Mov" (or probably the ".Aic" extention now) files using "Everywhere". Then hit the "File Size" thing-a-giggy, so the larges files show first. Then look at the dates "Date Motified".

You probably know all that already....

I looked for Clip and found my other HD10 project, but nothing else. One day they're there, the next GONE! I moved them to a firewire drive and worked for a week. Movie's done, I have a .mov of it, so I can always re-import it into iMovie HD and go from there.

I'll do a .aic and .mov search.

If you don't find the .mov or .aic files...maybe there is a way to search all drives for the largest file types? I know in Windows you can do something similar - it finds files that are huge and useless, so you can delete them. I wonder if the Mac has this search feature? I don't know. But, that would give you all video related files quickly...sheer size alone would make them show up.

Thanks, Murph. I'm wonderin' if they "disappeared" like I've heard Frederic and others mention.

Hey, I just thought of something that might help. I haven't downloaded any of them myself yet, but Google, Yahoo and a bunch of software companies have those new "Search Your Computer" apps. I think Google launched the first one. Anyway, I think they're made to search your computer in more powerful ways than what's been available.

I'll download the Google one and try it out...maybe it searches deleted files or something? Also, did you check your "Trash"? I know that's a dumb question, but it's like when someone can't figure out why an electronic device doesn't work....and then they see it's not plugged in!

Scratch that, it looks like their all Windows only. That stinks.
