Where is qt pro on snow leopard?
I can't even find info about this... I have QuickTime X player, which is not what I need on my new mac with Snow Leopard and the new Final Cut. QT Pro used to be free with FCP, now I can't even find it on my computer?
|
It should be lurking in your /Applications/Utilities/ folder. QT 7 is actually an optional install on Snow Leopard, but I should imagine it gets installed with FCP anyway.

I had to install it, why are they phasing out Quicktime Pro for this basic player? Apples only install description for QT pro is: "play back older file types"
QT player X has no movie properties options, so how can you specify the playback resolution? How can you select de-interlace? |
It's a work in progress Aric. Quicktime X marks the beginning of a complete rewrite of Quicktime and, as you note, the functionality is not yet anywhere near parity with the old Quicktime ... these features will come in future updates. In the meantime, installing both versions of Quicktime is fully supported so you have not lost anything, you've merely gained a new player.
