Compress a MP3?

I record lectures onto the laptop using Soundtrack Pro. I export them out of SP into MP3's for podcast. My client has a new web company and I can't upload any files bigger then 10 MB. I think it has something to do with itunes who they use for their podcasting now. Anyway even when I export at the lowest kilobyte (32 in SP) I can't get the files under 10MB. Is there a way to make the file smaller. I tried a couple of things in compressor with no luck.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Carlos

You can -
reduce the bit amount - 16 - 12 - 8 bit
reduce the frequency - 48KHz to 22Khz or less
reduce the bit rate (kbps) - 128 - as low as you find acceptable

Since it's just a lecture, there shouldn't be a lot of problems. You need to experiment till you hit that sweet spot.

Download this free program, it works great, imports and exports to many audio formats, and if you go to Encoder settings, you can just put in the bitrates etc. :

Audio Sound Converter Software - Convert wav, mp3, wma.
