Video Edits out of Sync
I am asking this question for a friend.
He was editing a film in Final Cut 6 and gave it to some one to edit in final cut 7. He used the same hard drive, and didn't back any thing up separately of that hard drive. Now, getting the footage back, He is having major sync issues. It seems for the most par that the audio is in the right place, but his video edits have all moved around so his time line is a mess. I know this doesn't give much detail, but has any one seen similar issues going from Final cut 7 to final cut 6? (he is super busy, so I am just trying to help out remotely). |
Most likely the sequences have changed to a different editing timebase. E.g. 23.98 to 29.97. This will cause the video clips to move around, and often leave gaps between the clips.
It's important to use the correct Easy Setup to set Final Cut to the proper project settings before opening a project. Check the footage before opening the project to verify the frame rate etc. If this isn't done the behaviour your friend is seeing will result. |
