Saving Audio (.aiff) Files - how to save as stereo

I'm creating a stereo audio project in Soundtrack Pro and then exporting it as .aiff for import to my Final Cut timeline. Whenever I export, I end up with a file with 6 channels, in 5.1 format, but with data in just the front L and R channels. How do I tell Soundtrack Pro that I just want a stereo file?

Cheers,

Nick

Hi Nick

Open the audio project in STP that is producing this unwanted 5.1 export and check the Project tab's Properties section ... what does it report for Channels?

Cheers
Andy

Hi Andy

Thanks for the lead - I found the answer! At the bottom of the Submix fader I needed to change the Output from surround to stereo or mono.

Cheers,

Nick
