Disable Command H function on MBP
HI guys
Is it possible to disable the hide function Key ( Cmd H ) as it gets in my way when i press Cmd-J key. regards Rob |
It takes a bit of trickery but you can do it ...
Open your OS X System Preferences window >> Keyboard pane >> Keyboard Shortcuts tab Select Application Shortcuts from the list at left and press the "+" to add a new shortcut In the controls sheet that drops down, choose Application > Final Cut Pro, and in the Menu Title type "Change Speed..." (without the quotes) then highlight the Keyboard Shortcut field and press Cmd H. Now close the System Preferences window Next time you switch to Final Cut Pro you'll see that the menu command Modify > Change Speed "appears" to be assigned the Cmd H shortcut, and (more importantly) the Final Cut Pro > Hide Final Cut Pro menu item has no shortcut assigned. Now (in FCP) press Cmd H ... nothing happens ... press Cmd J and you'll see that (despite appearances) that shortcut will still bring up the Change Speed function (because its mapped that way in your FCP keyboard layout. Hope it helps Andy |
