Resetting scratch disks?
 

I'm shooting this a film week and we want to try to do some rough cuts during downtime. My FCP on my laptop is setup for an external scratch disk which won't be with us. We do have a mobile drive for our scratch disk, but will it affect older projects to reset my scratch disks to this new one.

Shouldn't hurt the old projects unless you open them. You will want to be careful of your settings if you hook up the old scratch drive along with the newer one and then open the old project. Final cut doesn't seem to remember where a project is stored unless it can't find the disk with media and asks to relink. It will happily leave projects spread over different scratch disks and locations. Not so happy for the user juggling different projects on the same system.
