How do you take screen grabs?
I'm editing a commercial for someone and they want me to email them screen grabs so they can see some footage. I have no idea how to do this in FCP. The cheap way to do this in windows is to print screen but I'm pretty new to macs and don't even know how to do that (the keyboard doesn't say how like a win keyboard would).
I think there's probably an even better way of doing that because the people on dvxuser post nice high resolution screen grabs all the time. Can anyone tell me how to take a good high resolution screen grab in FCP? |
If you mean a freeze frame of your footage place your playhead where you want to send a frame and export quicktime conversion and there is some options for still images. If you want to send a pic of your entire screen press cmnd-shift-3 and it will take a shot of your screen and save it to the desktop.

Thanks a lot! that worked like a charm!

Also, command-shift-4 in the finder lets you capture a selected area of the screen.

Also, if you want to use a freeze frame in the FCP timeline, park the play head at the frame you want, hit shift-n, and the frame will open up in the viewer and can be dragged to the timeline.
To take a screen shot of any window in OS X, hit command-shit-4 then tap the space bar and click the app window or finder window and you'll have a screen shot. |
Thanks! That actually came in handy just now!
