4:3 to 16:9 Help
 

Ok -- I shot an independent film on a Canon GL1, I used the 16:9 GL1 option (it stretches the height). I accidentally imported the film in 4:3 ratio to Final Cut Express HD. By the time I noticed my mistake, I had imported the entire film. I changed the easy setup to 16:3, hoping it would change the format and it did. When I'm editing, the viewer and canvas show the film in widescreen format. But when I export the file to QuickTime, the film is back to its 4:3 format. Does anyone know if I can change the stretched 4:3 to 16:9 with out having to re-import the film from the camera and DV tapes?

This the correct format. All DV is 720x480 whether it's 16:9 or 4:3. If you are delivering the end product as a DVD, then you set the aspect ratio in your DVD authoring program.
