FCP with the Cine Alta
 

I was wondering if anyone has cut Cine Alta footage in FCP and what steps.

I'm not sure you need an aja or black magic card... I can't think of the model number of the Sony deck... but the low budget player owning deck I believe has firewire out... so can you bring it in that way...

Also what is the rate of storage...

For example 1gig equals one minute...

I've had Cine Alta footage using the above deck down converted to digibeta and brought into an old Avid for the offline and did an online with the HD tapes... this is different would like to cut and finish if possible on FCP.

The deck you refer to is called the JH3. It has firewire output to DV. If you want the full resolution HDCam, you need the HD SDI card to capture.
