For me, Premiere Pro 2.0 for Windows has been one great annoyance ever since I started using it. I am encountering a lot of crashes, some clips are not captured and then the program crashes and everything I have done can be done again. Not productive at all. I really miss Final Cut Pro and truly regret ever switching from Mac OS X to Windows again.

So I hope this new version for the Mac will be something like 3.0 or 2.5 and will also be made available to Windows users so I finally might have a program that actually allows me to work instead of troubleshoot.

This announcement is something I've been waiting on for a long time. As a PC user for over 10 years (and a network administrator in another life) I've always said that if Premiere was available on the Mac I would have a hard time not switching.

I've tried using Final Cut Pro a few times and Premiere just makes more sense to me - especially after using it on the PC for 4 or so years.

To be able to use Premiere (plus the rest of the Production Studio apps) on the Mac - and escape the inherent hassles associated with PCs and Windows - is a very tantalising proposition indeed.

I'll be watching this one very closely.

For the last couple of years the partisan Adobe and Apple Non-linear editors have been on the opposite sides of a fence. Adobe versus Apple decision had more to do with wether you were a Mac or PC person. Both tribes have throwing rocks at one another from a safe distance for quite a few years.

Now, with windows OS running on Macs and Adobe making a OSX version, the lines are blurred. It'll be interesting to see who of the Apple Tribe ends up switching to Adobe just out of a cost consideration. I use FCP, but as of right now the Adobe Production Suite looks a better deal.
