Compressing Video for the Web
Hey ppl,
I am currently producing videos for a radio station website. I use the media encoder in adobe prem to export them. The results are kind of ok, but as the radio website has limited space, most videos have to be under 5mb, so this effects what setting I use to export (the size etc). I was wondering if anyone knows of a better encoder I can use for better results, but also keeping within the size limits?? Thanks A |
Wrath of the Forum

I know I may encounter the wrath of the forum, but I find very good results with Real Media's codec. It may have an ugly-ass player that is annoying.... but their streaming software and compression are quite good. The only real issue you need to worry about is metrics. Find out what the custmers want to view. Try this... Render using a bunch of different formats and then track the usage for a week and find out which format is the most used. Then stick with that. What counts is that you provide the video in a format the your customers want to use. jason |
