Anybody With Macromedia Director Experience

I am presently authoring interactive CD's for my wedding demo and everything works right on my Mac but a PC won't run my projector file. This project would be worthless if I can't make it work in windows. Is there a lingo code or something to make the projector file cross platform.

I can't remember exactly how to do cross platform, I have happily forgotten all I learned about Macs :) However, I do remember that you will need to use a PC, and transfer certain files into your project. If you were to go to www.macromedia.com , you could do a search for "cross platform" in their forums. You should find your answer there.

I will give you one bit of advice- your movies will not play in the projector, if the other person doesnt have the same player/codec. If you use QT clips, and all they have is Windows media and avi codecs, all they will see is a big red X. Just some food for thought from someone who did something similar.

P.S. I just remembered that Macs don't always add file extensions. You may have to do this manually. For example, if you save a QT clip as something named "wedding", Macs somehow know it is a QT video, and don't need the .mov extension. PCs do need to know what the extension is, in order to know what to do with the file. Just more fun, eh?

Unfortunately projector files are not cross platform. For a PC the projector is a .exe file and needs to be created on a PC. Shockwave is cross platform, but your audience must have shockwave player installed on their machines.

You can get permission from MM to distribute players for both platforms on a single CD. Last time I checked, there was no charge, you just had to sign a license agreement. That includes either the shockwave or flash player (ActiveX for Win platforms).
