5dMk2 flies on a RC helicopter - Video
Check it out here:
YouTube - First 5Dmk2 Aerial Test on RC helicopter More info on the blog at aerialpan.blogspot.com I am pretty impressed so far. This is a pretty vibration rich environment and the 5D handled it pretty well. Cheers, Tabb |
I don't think its shows off the camera that well. It would be great to see with a few more lens's and different focus depths. It's looks like its was all on auto including white balance.
Good to see, thanks for the link. |
Very sweet! This video gives some ideas as to what could be possible with the 5D.
Is this a custom 'copter or a kit? Thanks! |
Thanks John!
The copter is a custom version of the minicopter joker (minicopter.de) with a copterworks camera gimbal (copterworks.com) Both are excellent quality and make obtaining smooth stable footage a little less daunting. Cheers, Tabb |
This is the coolest thing I've seen today!
|
Very impressed, thanks for posting it..

cool. Thaz a monster heli. I was shocked to see the size of the 5D relative to the heli!
|
Price fo the copterworks
2500 USD WOW
That is the same price as the 5D Mark II. Any good DIY 3-axis gimbals out there ?? |

Live Video Back to You
If you're a ham radio operator, you could include one of these very small, light-weight video transmitters to give you live video back to your control point. You could see what you're shooting as you're flying!
Like I said, though, you must have a ham radio license to use one of these transmitters. Getting a ham radio license in the USA is very easy these days (no knowledge of Morse code is required anymore). http://www.supercircuits.com/Wireles...inks/AVX900T4] |
