Here is an FAA site you can use to see if there is a temporary flight restriction (TFR) in place for where you intend to fly: Federal Aviation Administration - Graphic TFR's

There is also a web based app called airmap.io and it will show TFR's. It is geared towards UAV operators and if you request more info about a TFR, it takes you to the site that Jim linked.
