Thanks for the link, checked it out and unfortunately they don't seem to do a 4 pin to 6 pin with the angle on the 6 pin..

Thanks anyway

The right angle is still on the 4 pin, I need it on the six pin, unless I'm missing something else on that page (it is late !!))

Ah you're correct. Most people are more worried about the fragile 4 pin getting bent and want the angle.

The only 6 pin cables with R angle are 6-6 that I see on this page http://fwdepot.com/thestore/advanced...64121e&x=0&y=0

Mark,

I bought my FS4 with the field kit. This came with a short cable with a straight 4 pin to right angle 6 pin, so they do exist, or maybe Focus gets them custom built.

Focus Enhancements sells what you want -

Found this in a post by Matt McEwen from Focus Enhancements

"We do sell a 23" 6-4 pin FireWire cable (with a right angle on the 6-pin side). The part number is CBLA-0127-01."

I could not find it on their web store but maybe you could contact them direct at 408-866-8300.

hope this helps.

edit: I did a web search for the part number and found that part number listed as a 6 to 6! Oh well, give them a call anyway. One came with my FS 4 but no part # I can find. Good luck.

Spoke to the UK supplier (who were very helpfull as usual) and they inform me that the right angled firewire cable is only supplied with the on-camera kit.

But they are looking into sourcing that and a few other usefull part.

Regards

Just saw this post. I think for me, the 4 pin bent at 90 degrees will be more useful. This because the distance between the XL2 body and the battery bracket holder does not have much clearance for me to insert the normal length 4 pin firewire in. I tried it last week - it went in - but was very tight (wedged between XL2 body and the metal bracket above it. I will have to do mail order for the http://www.ntcdistributing.com/products/fwangled.htm now.

To folks in London -
Why must you insist on UK distributor? Can't you just do mail order? Not everything can be found in UK :-). I should say - worse - for Singapore. Those exotic stuff that are only US made - I don't have a choice.

Graham Bernard September 19th, 2005 12:14 AM

"Why must you insist on UK distributor?"

Here are some of the "reasons":

1/- Wholesaler here might be able to swallow much of the customs and transport costs.

2/- A Dealer here might have other alternatives/variations I could go, feel, see and try and THEN pick 'n go.

3/- More chance of getting "returns" treated with urgency here in the UK.

4/- If the part is faulty I could invoke UK consumer law to back up any dealer issue.
