Can DV camcorder capture HDV tapes?

I doesn't have a deck and only has an old Panasonic NV-GS11. Can this camcorder help to capture HDV footages from the HDV mini DV tapes captured by my XH-A1?

No. You need an HDV Camcorder, like the A1 or the HV20.

Ok. Does it matter whether the camcorder can shoot in either 24p or 25p, as I am shooting in 25p using the A1. Or simply any HDV camcorder will do.

Hi Kenny...........

What's the problem with using the A1 for capture?

Yes, it matters. If you've shot 25p and want to use another camcorder to play it back for capture, then it must be capable of 25p as well. Your best options are a Canon HV10 or HV20, but as Chris suggests, I think you should just use the A1 to capture from in the first place. This topic has been heavily discussed in the past... place research it.
