Scenalyzer for HDV?

The following product is great for DV cameras. It identifies the splits and stores snapshots through each capture so that you know what is on each tape you have.

Unfortunately it doesn't work for HDV. I am begging them to upgrade it. Is there another comparable product?

I don't just want the splits like HDV split, I want the pictures within each clip to know what's on the tape.

I'll second your wish. I've been using Scenalyzer since day-1 to create hundreds of video projects. It is so simple to use and 100% reliable. I'm currently shooting projects in SD but looking to make the jump to HD and would gladly pay for an HD-compatible upgrade for Scenalyzer.

This looks like something i have been after! I have a heap of SD MiniDV's i want to log so i will check this out. But like you guys i have moved to HDV so my vote goes up for one that works with HDV. I might email them and put in a polite feature request.

I use HDVSplit. I too was a Scenalyzer user. :) Great little program.

Just a little tip i thought of and then tested on the trial version (just quickly). For my HV20, it has a feature that outputs to DV from a tape recorded in HDV. This was the first time i've used this feature. And to be honest i'd not use it for any other reason accept for this workaround (quality leave something to be desired). But at least it worked.

If other cameras have this ability then Scenalyzer could be still used. I turned my HV20's output to DV and gave it a go. And it worked. So for logging HDV tapes it can still be used - albeit in SD low quality DV. :)

i had a quick try with HDVSplit, its agreed, top little app! Reminds me of a little one called WinDV that i first used when i got my fist miniDV camera a number of years ago.

NB: A motherboard was harmed in the making of this tip. and not a cheap one either! *cries*

Hi all!

Me to did spend some time looking for a solution and when the time to choose arrived, I chose CatDV because of HD support.

http://www.squarebox.co.uk/

I do like it but at the same time I wanted the fast indexing feature that Scenalyzer has and I have been begging for it to CatDV makers. In CatDV you have to digitize all your content to disk before indexing it. It doesn't make sense since it is for cataloguing not to edit.

Regards
